Why short and sweet?
The moments directly before through directly after the wedding are what I call, the "best bits". Anything else is just a bonus.
I have photographed 500+ weddings. I always felt out of place being in the room during those private moments: the bride getting dressed or when her dad cries; the time her mum does up her bracelet and looks her in the eye and they share a smile. Those moments are private.
Your photographic story can start 1/2 an hour before the bride arrives. Perhaps capturing the groom nervously stomping towards the venue with his best man; or kissing his future mother in law when he gets to the steps of Edes House. I'll try to capture the brave but gulping bestman, all the hand shaking, mum helping dad with his buttonhole. These are the sweet bits. Finally, the arrival of the bride as she clutches dad's hand taking deep breaths - those looks of anticipation. The look of love during ring exchange and the rapturous relief immediately afterwards. A few group shots and shots of your two together. That ... is all you need. It goes by in a flash. I capture it all, beautifully ... with no fuss. And then, I'm gone. I leave you to party.
